-Shinra tries to show as much emotion as she can.
-She’s smarter than she looks.
-She get’s mad when someone insults her, but she doesn’t say anything back. She just attacks them
-Shinra takes advantage of the fact that most people don’t like spiders.

Background:
Shinra was born into a big family of Joro Spiders (Nephila Clavata) as a nameless little female spider. Like any other web-dwelling spider, she loved spinning her silky web, eating and living life as it was.

Naturally, spiders don’t live that long and some seasons later, Shinra was the only one of her family generation that still lived. She never questioned why she was the only one left nor did she seem to notice that the rest of her big family wasn’t there anymore. She just kept on living until she reached year 400 and just as the legend of the Jorogumo tells it, Shinra got her powers at that age. She then named herself Shinra (something like divine) because she was mesmerized by her new abilities to turn into a human woman, use better spider webs, have little spider minions and eat better food (people). She thought of her powers as some sort of reward that was given her for living so long. Since she thought of her powers as a gift, she tried to use it for good.

One day, Shinra saw a man by the road where she was walking. He looked really hungry and skinny so, instead of luring him in to eat him, she tried to give him some of the food she had left over from her last meal, a piece meat of some human. She offered it to him but he was terrified. He ran away screaming hysterically that she was a monster. Shinra knew she was different. She knew she was a spider and not human and she was well aware that she did eat humans but she never thought of herself as a monster nor did the humans scream at her like that (she was never really caught eating people in the first place.) She was deeply hurt and continued on her way, thinking of what to do with herself now that she was a “monster”. She got conscious and tried to isolate herself from humans to avoid being insulted by them. She tried making use of her spinning talent and quickly learned how to create cloths using her own silk threads. She wandered around and sold her goods for normal food that she can have without being called a monster until she came across Okumatta. She decided to settle down there after finding out that everyone there was different like her. Though not the same species, she tried to break out of her shell and make friends with the people like her, reminding herself that they were nothing like the ones she dwelled amongst before. Shinra now tries to make the most of her life living where she does now.

Extra:
-Shinra takes pride in her spider form.
-Though most Jorogumo prefer transforming into beautiful women (to lure in humans and eat them), Shinra prefers a child-like appearance because she's still conscious of her womanly form because she was in that when the human called her a monster.
